Keep the ocean clean initiative
Keep The Ocean Clean Initiative was founded out of the zeal to promote ocean literacy among the people of Nigeria as well as the West Atlantic region.
Additionally, the organization was founded to promote and advocate for a safe and clean ocean towards preservation and conservation of marine lives.
It is aimed that the organization will help achieve the United Nation’s Ocean Decade agenda as well the Ocean Literacy project of the UNESCO.
The organization is founded and run by the Chairman Mr. Uzoeshi Ekechukwu, the Secretary Mr. Onyegbuchulam Samuel, and other executive board members – Mr. Agube Stanlislus Chisimdi, Dr Onwubiko Chinomnso Chinazum and Mr. Williamson Ekemini.
The group members have a vast knowledge of the oceans as well as being great researchers.

Strategic Intent/Objective
The objectives of this project shall be:
- To get rid of dirt and plastics from our waterways and oceans
- To encourage and increase participation in ocean and marine studies and research.
- To create awareness on the dangers of ocean pollution and its adverse effect on marine life.
- To increase ocean awareness among the populace of coastal states
- To develop a curriculum for ocean studies in our secondary schools
- To curtail defamation of our oceans.
- To ensure conservation of marine lives.
Meet Our Team
THE CHAIRMAN

Mr. Uzoeshi Ekechukwu Chikezie
Mr. Uzoeshi Ekechukwu Chikezie was born on the 8th
of June 1989 in Owerri, Imo State. He holds a bachelor
of science degree in Geophysics from the university of
Port Harcourt and a post graduate degree certification in
Ocean mapping from the university of New Hampshire
USA. He is a certified CAT A hydrographic surveyor with
vast experience in ocean surveys. He is an advocate of
clean and safe ocean and an ocean literacy enthusiast.
THE SECRETARY

Mr. Onyegbuchulam Samuel Chinedum
Mr. Onyegbuchulam Samuel Chinedum was born on the 29th
of June, 1997 in Apapa Lagos state. He holds a B.Eng. in Electrical /
Electronic Engineering from Imo State University Owerri. As the
Secretary of the organization, he plays a pivotal role in
coordinating activities, managing outreach programs, and
promoting ocean literacy and cleanliness. He combines youthful
energy with a commitment to making a tangible difference in
the fight against marine pollution, also bringing technical expertise
and a passion for environmental conservation to the Keep the Ocean
Clean Initiative.
EXCUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

Mr. Agube Stanlislus Chisimdi
With a background in Accounting from Madonna university,
Okija, Mr. Agube Chisimdi brings a diverse professional journey
spanning Banking, Insurance, real estate, and Logistics.
Committed to social impact, he has volunteered extensively to
human development initiatives, demostrating a keen
understanding of community needs. With a passion for a cleaner
environment and ocean conservation, he possesses strong
organizational skills, strategic thinking and a collaborative
approach to problem-solving. His experience in diverse sectors
equips him with ample knowledge, adaptability and a broad
persperctive, essential for addressing challenges in ocean cleanliness
and conservation. Agube Chisimdi is driven by a deep-seated
commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

Dr Onwubiko Chinonmso Chinazum
As a dedicated and highly skilled professional, I bring a wealth of
expertise in leadership communication, research and field work,
underpinned by my academic background and extensive experience.
I hold a PhD in Integrated Coastal Zone Management, where I joined
my abilities in both qualitative and quantitative research. My research
has been pivotal in advancing sustainable coastal management practices,
with a focus on integratingenvironmental, social and economic
dimensions. My academic jourcny has equipped me with a strong
analytical skills and the capability to lead complex research projects from
inception to completion. I excel in conducting field work gathering and
analyzing data and translating findings into actionable strategies. My
abilities to communicate comples ideas effectively to diverse audiences
has been instrumental in fostering collaboration and driving impactful outcomes.

Mr. Williamson Ekemini
Ekemini Williamson is a Hydrographic Surveyor and ocean advocate with six years of experience, underpinned by a degree in Geophysics. Combining a strong foundation in geophysical methods with hands-on experience in the energy sector, Ekemini excels in hydrographic/oceanographic data acquisition
and processing using a variety of modern hydrographic equipment and techniques. His role involves precise underwater surveys that support maritime safety and environmental sustainability. As a passionate advocate for ocean conservation and literacy, he works to promote sustainable practices and address marine pollution and its impacts on marine ecosystems. Williamson's expertise bridges technical proficiency with environmental stewardship, making him a vital contributor to both the scientific community and ocean preservation efforts.
